This schematic diagram was developed in collaboration with senior students and their professor Laura Martin at Williams College to visualize local sources of microplastics. Sources of microplastics associated with human waste and applied as sludge on agricultural land were shown in relation to other terrestrial sources such as synthetic textile processing plants, inefficient collection schemes and insufficient waste management facilities.
