This series was created to advance the work of Rights and Resources in establishing a Land Rights Standard. The Land Rights Standard was created to prioritize a coordinated approach to land rights. When endorsed by local, Indigenous and Afro-descendent communities and adopted by agencies and companies, this rights-based approach sets the ground rules for more sustainable, equitable, and just actions that honor local ownership and allow our lands and waters to flourish.
These illustrations envision the process of colonization, extraction and pollution, followed by restoration, reconnection and rematriation of a riverway.
